On Monday, January 30th, Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity will engage in a Fraternity-wide draping of the badge in honor of AOII sister Kayla Libby, a member of our Pi Delta Chapter at the University of Maryland who passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2012. We invite all AOIIs, collegiate and alumnae, to participate in this event to show the incredible bonds of sisterhood that AOII has to offer each of our members. Please see the below explanation of the draping of the badge. We thank all of our fellow fraternal organizations who have extended their condolences, and all of the AOII alumnae and collegians who have reached out to and supported the women of Pi Delta Chapter during this difficult time. Kayla was a treasured member of Pi Delta Chapter and of Alpha Omicron Pi.

When a member of AOII passes away, each collegiate and alumna member may indicate respect and mourning by draping her badge for seven days.
The preferred method of draping the badge is to pin the badge through a small piece of black ribbon.

To honor a deceased member, a collegiate or alumnae chapter may hold the Memorial Ritual for Chapters and Members, which only initiated members may attend, or the AOII Memorial Service for Friends and Family, which may be attended by guests who are not members of AOII. During the International Conventions, members who have passed away since the last Convention are remembered with a Memorial Ritual.
